Grace Church established in 1856, is part of the United Methodist Church, a denomination founded in America in 1784. The first building was constructed on the present site in 1859. The present building, the third on this site, was dedicated in 1916.
Vermont granite was used with granite trimmings coming from quarries in Woodbury, Concord and Hardwick. An outstanding feature of the church sanctuary is the Turner memorial window, a product of Tiffany Studios of New York. The stained glass gothic window depicts the announcement by the angels to shepherds of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Rev. Hyung-Kyu Yi, the forty-eighth pastor of the church was appointed to serve Grace Church in 2018.
Our Style of Worship
We offer a blended worship experience. Musically we sing both contemporary choruses and traditional hymns. We have a praise band, senior choir and bell choir. Each worship experience is based on, and centered around, a theme for the day. The theme is visually represented in the altar area. During our worship services we have times of prayer, Scripture reading, message and singing.
Children are able to enjoy the first fifteen minutes of worship with their families, in hopes they will learn from the participation and patience of adults around them on how to conduct themselves in the sanctuary in the future. After a short children's message, grades K-12 are invited to join our dedicated teachers for children's church programs. To learn more about our children's ministries, visit our ministries page.
